My Review

The second book in the Demon Outlaws series is an action filled, intriguing and unique read.

Blade, a retired assassin has crossed the desert to seek a new life but his sense of duty interferes with his plans when he comes across Raven who is nearly executed at the hands of her stepfather, for being half demon. She’s passionate and headstrong and set on revenge, so Blade could very fall back into the life he was trying to leave behind as both immortals and mortals stalk the woman he can’t abandon.

This steady to fast paced plot comes to life with vivid imagery and strong compelling characters.  The unique world brings intriguing characters and a fascinating setting with lots of suspense and surprises along the way that grabs the reader’s attention and doesn’t let go.

The romance between Blade and Raven has sparks flying from the pages and the author conveys the gauntlet of emotions involved in their journey with an intensity that has the reader feeling as if they are part of the story.  The supporting characters are engaging so real like that the reader can easily relate to them and even the enemies invoke the reader’s emotions inciting an urge to inflict lots of pain.

The author has created a fantastic fantasy world of demons and magic that kind of has a cross between an old west setting and a post apocalyptic setting that gives a unique feel to the story.  If you love books that deal with the eternal good vs. evil struggle, characters that bewitch your imagination, then this book is for you. I haven’t read the first book yet, but I will definitely be reading it and waiting impatiently for the final book in this trilogy.
