My Review:

This romantic suspense keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from beginning to end. Emma Bailey’s search for her missing brother leads to an island where the one man who can help is the man she can’t trust.  Cole Stevens is on a mission t take down a drug mastermind and his plans take an unexpected turn when Emma runs headfirst into his investigation.  As the web of deceit unravels they will be forced to choose between fear of betrayal and their willingness to put their emotions on the line in order to save the ones they care for.

This fast paced plot keeps readers shivering with anticipation as the story progresses and the web gets thicker and more secrets and lies revealed.  The author spins her story with vivid imagery and details that capture the imagination and makes the reader feel as they are part of the story.  The characters are strong and compelling drawing the reader deeper into the drama as it unfolds.

The attraction between Emma and Cole burns steadily hotter as the story progresses with some hot & steamy sex scenes but the relationship is hampered by secrets and not knowing who they can trust.  It’s easy for the reader to relate to each character and understand their side of things when the author conveys their personalities and emotions so clearly.  Emma impresses the reader with her courage and ingenuity in the situation she finds herself involved in and Cole’s loyalty to those he cares for and his determination to bring the bad guy down makes him such an attractive and endearing hero.

I really enjoyed this mesmerizing story and the captivating characters although the story keeps referring to a past event that led to this one and I would really like to have read the entire story, maybe the author can go back and write a prequel, of course I would like to know more about some of the other characters too, so I’m not sure which I would rather her write first…hmmm.
