- Author, reader, blogger? All of the above. I've been a bibliophile since I was a little girl reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books while sitting sideways on my rocker as summer breezes blew through my window. I loved books so much, I majored in English and communications in college. A writer for more years than I care to mention, I was a journalist and magazine editor before my kids were born. During the time I took time off from work to raise my two sons, I got the idea for my first novel and have been writing fiction ever since.

Authenticity is an important part of fiction, believe it or not.
Think of some of the classics, like Jane Austen’s Meryton, Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford, or Louisa May Alcott’s Concord. Each location has its own story, and I was drawn to writing part of Naperville’s through the Bibliophiles series to chronicle this picturesque little city as I see it every day.
