Author, reader, blogger? All of the above. I've been a bibliophile since I was a little girl reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books while sitting sideways on my rocker as summer breezes blew through my window. I loved books so much, I majored in English and communications in college. A writer for more years than I care to mention, I was a journalist and magazine editor before my kids were born. During the time I took time off from work to raise my two sons, I got the idea for my first novel and have been writing fiction ever since.

Surprisingly diverse in some neighborhoods on the North side and almost stuffed into its boundaries with a 144,000+…
