Shame ON You (An Ozzie Novak Thriller, Book 4) byJohn W. Mefford | Author

"This case had twists and turns that have come to be expected out of a Mefford thriller – the kind you don’t expect. How everything wraps up and ties together had my head spinning. I would never have guessed it to fall into place the way it did. Definitely pick up Mefford’s latest – Shame ON You." reviews Nicki's Nook

Two shattered lives bound by one haunting secret.

Chantel hasn't been the same since her sister went missing ten years ago. Ravaged by drug addiction ever since that fateful moment, Chantel vanished a month ago. Could the same kidnapper be involved?

Pulled into the investigation by his friend, Ivy Nash, Ozzie quickly learns the art of the addicted: deceit is a way of life.

Meanwhile, a high school reunion reminds Ozzie of the good old days, but some annoying personalities just haven't changed. Kate delivers a heart-wrenching song, honoring those who've died, in particular her cousin, a boy from Ozzie's class who made everyone smile -- and now, ten years later -- shed a tear.

The hunt for Chantel takes Ozzie and Ivy to the most dangerous places in Austin. A girl is bludgeoned to death -- they believe they have a key witness, but he slips away.

When Ozzie and Ivy finally get a clue from Chantel's feisty grandmother, what at first seems unthinkable could be reality. But there's far more to unraveling this bizarre set of events. Could this all circle back to his high school class?

Two girls connected to one tragic event. Years have passed…people have died, and more could follow. But there is one demented soul who shames those he was meant to save.

Will Ozzie be able to solve this twisted mystery and save the ones who've suffered the most?

Book Review - AFTER YOU'RE DEAD by Cary Allen Stone (A Jake Roberts Novel)

Meet Jake Roberts, no nonsense ex policeman who runs his own security business and cannot help himself getting into trouble from past exploits.
Cary Allen Stone does it again, a masterpiece of fiction and will keep any reader engrossed and on their toes, I must admit he is one of my favourite authors and always look forward to his novels.
This time Jake has to tackle and rescue a friend’s wife from an evil drug lord and the adventure along with the thrills and spills is an amazing one.
The emotive writings are excellent and the tension that the author brings to a crescendo keeps the reader enthralled all the way to the end.  The characters and scenes are expertly described and you can imagine yourself being in the background observing. You also feel a very strong connection to Jake and will him on to succeed and survive.
This book can be read alone as Jake's past is described in the book so you know exactly what has been going on.
Any detective loving reader will instantly fall in love with the novel and I cannot wait for the next one. (hurry please!)

This book has everything, kidnap, murder, police investigation and the hunt for lost treasure.  A real page turner full of thrills and emotion with excellent descriptive writing and characters that jump out of the pages and come to life.
The story takes us on a rip roaring roller coaster of a ride through the jungle to find a hidden city of gold in order to save his girlfriend from a kidnapper.  A lot of research has obviously gone into this novel, I feel the story is a cross between the Indiana Jones stories and the old Tarzan adventures with a mythological creature and old fashioned defence mechanisms thrown in.
The chapters are small and the story flows smoothly.  I think each reader will pick out their favourite character and will want them to succeed.
A riveting read for all adventures lovers who have an interest in history.  I enjoyed this book along with the authors other novels and anyone who likes adventure mystery and suspense will enjoy it too.

With evidence pointing to a gang-related drive-by, Madison and her team investigate the town's seedy underbelly in search of justice for their fallen brother. But the deeper they dig, the more convoluted the case becomes. Now they need to figure out if this was a random shooting as part of a gang initiation, a straight-up hate crime, or a targeted kill.
