Tell us a little bit about your book.
August is a romantic suspense centered around a hitman who works for an assassin organization. Since the death of his fiancée, August has become accustom to taking the deadliest assignments. Toss in Natalia, who resembles and kinda has the same badass attitude as Barbadian singer, Rihanna, and well, you’ve got yourself a great story.
Have you published before?
Yes, a whole lotta books! I have many Amazon best sellers under my belt in the genre of romantic suspense, erotica, and contemporary.
Are you currently working on anything else?
I am working on a sequel to Make Me Stay, which is a contemporary romance, also a stand alone, but the rave reviews kept asking for more. This second chance romance centers around a bad boy and a feisty, deaf heroine. Book one is filled with drama and the intensity of falling back in love with your childhood romance.
What is your favorite writing snack?
I starve myself while writing LOL. If I’m in the moment, nothing will stop me muhahhahaha. But I do love snickers and Twix.
What gets you in the mood to write?
Green tea and early mornings are my go-to for writing.
Who is your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Victor. Firstly, he’s British and with an accent like that, who wouldn’t love him? Secondly, he’s dangerous and crazy. He’s a multilayered character that has always kept me spellbound. Underneath the dark layers is a really good, loyal guy.
Favorite book of all time?
Wow, that’s a hard one. Not per genre or era, but book of all time is very difficult to answer. I’m picking two because I can’t pick one. The Joy Luck Club and The Great Gatsby because I’m a stickler for characters that cling to me. But if I could pick more, I’ve got a handful of favorite mermaid romance books too.
I think breakfast says a lot about a person, what is your perfect breakfast?
After all the ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ sayings I’ve heard as a kid, I usually skip it. But blackberries or applies come in handy when my stomach growls too loudly. Sorry if that’s TMI, I love writing and won’t stop to feed myself.
Do you have a favorite period of time that you like to write about or would like to live?
One of my favorite periods is Regency Romance. While I haven’t made any attempt at writing it, who doesn’t want a rakish duke?
Please tell us in one sentence why we should read your book!
The shock of suspense, angst, laughter, August is a crazy and emotional ride.
August Reiss Seven years ago, the love of my life and my parents died a robbery gone wrong. Do you know what that can do to a professionally trained hitman? Now, I work for a government organization, my next assignment is to infiltrate the Marchand’s crew. The information is vague. But what takes the cake, is that the family “business” of crooks I’m to investigate, includes a Bajan little sister whose lips are the definition of sex and trouble. And yet Natalia’s soft curves are off limits—not because her brothers will bash my head in. No, she is capable of offing me herself.
Natalia Marchand Anything a man can do, I can do it better. I’ve lived by that credo my entire life, and with my dangerous ‘job’ it’s always been true. I’m a rich man’s kryptonite, I can pretend to desire you, and then execute a plan to take all you own. My brother’s and I live a dangerous lifestyle. Then in walks muscles, murky green eyes, and a cocky smile. August needs a place to stay, and he’s saved my kid brother’s life. Now, he’s a god to my brothers. Can he really be trusted? But I'll put a bullet to his head if he proves my intuition is right.
