Tell us about your book:

All for Hope is my first contemporary romance and its the story of two old friends who haven't been friends in a long time. When Hope kidnaps a baby to save her from an abusive grandfather, Brennan steps in to help her get away. Their journey sparks up the old flame they once had for each other.

I'm also the author of the Bend-Bite-Shift Paranormal Romance Trilogy (Witch Way Bends, Bitten Shame and Shifty Business) as well as the MAUCs Urban Fantasy Series (Trolling for Trouble and Tangled Up in Trouble coming June 21)

Where did the idea of your (latest) book come from?

Honestly, I haven't got a clue. Hahaha! I first wrote a version of that story about 15 years ago. I did a lot of changing and revisions to it, but for the life of me I'm not sure where I got the original idea.

Who and what inspires you to write your books?

Usually the ideas for my stories from dreams and/or daydreams. I have a very active imagination and all sorts of little things in life can get the gears turning.

Each author has her own fascinating journey. How did you begin writing?

I was probably about 15 or so when I began carrying spiral bound notebooks around with me and scribbling little stories in them. I used to pass those stories around to my friends at school and I always said I was going to be a writer. I rediscovered that dream just a few years ago when I met some great authors who mentored and inspired me to make my dreams come true.

What has been the most pleasant surprise about being a writer? How about the most unexpected downside?

Getting the opportunity to mentor other new writers has been the most pleasant surprise. Downside? Marketing... I worry I'm not doing it write or that I should be spending more time writing

Do you have any particular writing routines or rituals?

Well, I usually write sitting on the couch with the hubby watching TV in the background. I also usually have a playlist for each book... I don't listen to it while I'm writing, but instead while I'm driving and scheming up scenes for whatever book I'm working on.

Do you write in order?

As of now, I've always written in order, but mainly because I'm a "pantster" and I don't outline. I've learned a new plotting techinque recently though and I'm going to be giving that a shot. It should let me skip around a bit and write the scenes based on my mood at that moment.

What is on your playlist when you write?

I don't listen while I write, but while I plot I always have a playlist. And the songs depend on the story. Missy Higgins, Paramore, Pink, Three Doors Down, Ellie Goulding... the list could go on and on.

Favorite writing snack?

Lucky Country Aussie Licorice

Where do you like to write?

Anywhere will work as long as I'm in the groove.

Do you have any advice for authors wanting to publish?

Find a support group. I could never have gotten to this point without my mentors, crit partners, friends and family. You need people to prop you up and kick you in the rear along the way.

Are you currently working on anything else?

Yes, I am about to release the second book in my MAUCs Urban Fantasy Series. I'll also be diving into the first in my For Love of Fae Trilogy very soon.

Who is your favorite character and why?

Langston - He is so strong, so wise, so charming. All he has to do is enter a scene and the words just happen. I sort of love that giant.

Favorite book of all time?

Aztec by Gary Jennings

I think breakfast says a lot about a person. What is your perfect breakfast?

My perfect breakfast is waffles with blueberries and maple sausage. Yum!

Please tell us in one sentence why we should read your book.

Because I pour my heart into every word...
