My Review

The third book in the Phoenix Pack series is an intriguing werewolf romance that keeps readers on the edge of their seat.  Two emotionally troubled shifters have a long journey ahead of them to achieve their happily ever after. And being right smack in the middle of territorial local packs and violent human extremist certainly doesn’t help matters. Will the couple be able to overcome their hesitations and claim each other?

This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, action, drama and romance. The author brings the story to life with well written and believable scenes and vivid imagery that makes the reader feel as if they are part of the story.  The characters are strong, compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning. 

The chemistry between Shaya and Nick explodes from the pages and the sex scenes are extremely hot, but the relationship has it difficulties from both sides.  Shaya captures the heart with her submissive but strong personality, she’s been hurt in the past and doesn’t trust easily and she doesn’t easily forgive Nick for what’s he’s done by proving she’s not as submissive as he thought which causes the reader quite a few chuckles. And Nick deserves what he gets, but the reader can’t help but fall in love with the sexy alpha who went about doing his idea of the right thing… he meant well.

The shifters also have to deal with the human extremist who thinks all shifter are abominations and deserve to die which spices the story up quite a bit. But there’s also lots of humor and entertainment added by all the shifters that insist on being a part of the drama and putting their two cents in and just generally making sure to pester the alpha who insists he doesn’t want to be alpha.

The author has created a mesmerizing world of enchanting shifters that captures the imagination and leaves the reader wanting to know more.  I always find myself unable to put the book down once I start reading it when I read a book in this series and this one was no different.  I really can’t wait to read more about some of the other intriguing characters in this world.
