What the book has to say:
A shapeshifter and a wizard slugging it out, an alien world and a hell-horse...
Jockey Camryn O'Sullivan is an alcoholic on a downward spiral after the death of her husband. When aliens kidnap her, she's both terrified and reluctantly fascinated by Ryman Coppersmith. She's positive the weird attraction to her abductor is an anomaly. Something to ignore. She'll train the aliens' horse and they'll return her home. Simple. There's no need for sex or a stubborn male kitty-cat to replace the precious memories of her husband.
Murder. Betrayal. Banishment.
Feline shapeshifter Ry has experienced treachery of the worst kind. When his foster brother--the man who betrayed him--proposes a wager on a hell-horse race, the lure to clear his name is irresistible.
Camryn's arrival triggers a jump in his already overactive sex drive. It's a struggle to keep his hands off his beautiful captive. Something in his mysterious feline background compels him to chase her and the passion firing between them soars out of control. Ry doesn't understand the mechanics of their attraction but knows he can't afford to lose Camryn...despite his promise to return her home.
What I have to say:
Feline shapeshifter Ryman Coppersmith will do whatever it takes to clear his name including kidnapping Jockey Camryn O’Sullivan in order to win a hell-horse race but he doesn’t count on the passion Camryn’s arrival triggers in this exciting sci-fi romance.
Camryn has spiraled into a deep alcoholic depression since her husband died and when she’s kidnapped by aliens she’s both terrified and fascinated by Ryman but she’s sure he’s done something weird to cause her attraction. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the tension and expectation that flows through this story from beginning to end and the chemistry between Cam and Ry explodes from the pages into some frequent scorching hot sex scenes but the relationship is not an easy one, especially as Cam wants to return home. Warning: the characters are strong, compelling, full of attitude and really demand the reader’s attention at all times and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot ensures that the characters get their wish with lots of suspense, excitement and passion.
There is never a dull moment among this crew as they train a hell-horse to race in a disturbing derby all while barely dodging lethal attacks against their persons and Ryman’s brother manages to cause a lot of strife and mayhem as well. Vivid imagery brings the story and fascinating world to life as the well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the suspense and events keeps readers on their toes with lots of action, excitement and some unexpected twists.
This is an edgy and sexy world full of intriguing characters, interesting and unique elements to keep things spicy and different. I was completely enthralled with the story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to be kidnapped by Ryman and his crew again so I can find out what happens next.

Introducing Shelley Munro:
Shelley lives in New Zealand with her husband.
Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak – big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.
While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love – that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby and rugby league (strictly for research purposes), and curling up with a good book.
