Blurb:
Blue Reynolds knows the darker side of New Never City—the side that’s hopped-up on fairy dust and doesn’t care if your house gets blown down. Rent’s due and his PI business is all but make believe. But even Blue shudders at having to chase after Isabella Davis, a freckle-nosed redhead five feet tall on her tip-toes…if you don’t count the pretty pink wings.
Izzy is tough, and sneaky, and not too thrilled with the idea of being the new tooth fairy. The last six have been most gruesomely extracted. But Blue has a feeling that whoever is killing the tooth fairies is worse than your standard big bad psycho. The fairy council is hiding something. The Shadows are moving out into the light. And Blue is saddled with a shocking power that could take out half of New Never City…
My Review:
Someone is killing Tooth Fairies and since his rent is due, PI Blue Reynolds takes on the case of the missing Isabella Davis hopefully before the killer does but not everything is at seems in the intriguing paranormal mystery.
This steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in anticipation with lots of suspense. Izzy has been chosen to be the next Tooth Fairy but she doesn’t want the job and not just because someone’s killing them in a gruesome manner. Blue has a whole host of problems and trouble always comes with anything to do with fairies but with the rent due he has little choice but to take on the case. From the first moment these two meet sparks fly in every direction and not just from chemistry.
The well orchestrated suspense draws the reader into the story and ensures that the reader wants to know every last detail while surprising twists keep the readers guessing who done it. But it’s not as easy as that when there are multiple plots going on and strong compelling characters with hidden agendas that grab the reader’s attention. There is never a dull moment with danger and excitement keeping Blue and Izzy hopping as they are continuously attacked.
The author has put her own spin to a fascinating world that consists of a mixture of fairytales and nursery rhymes with some unique and interesting elements. The enemies are as intriguing as every other character in the story and with all the secrets being kept it’s hard to figure out just who the bad guys really are. Blue is a delightful cranky character that does exactly what he wants but has a strong sense of honor that runs underneath his gruff exterior, so he makes a really good private investigator and reluctant hero that I just couldn’t resist so I am looking forward to reading about his next case.
