The second book in the Chronicles of Applecross is an action packed magical adventure.

Having just recovered from the last threat to her life, Lora hasn’t even begun to fix the mess of having a hellspawn and nephilim as potential lovers. Now, Lora’s troubles seem to escalate when she takes on a missing person case that puts her in the crosshairs of a violent gang with a penchant for blood sport. 

The author’s fantasy world is intriguing and fascinating with its strong characters and multiple conflict storyline.  The plot is fast paced and flows smoothly from one event to the next keeping the reader well entertained. The action and suspense of the story engages the readers’ imagination and keeps them on the edge of their seat.

All the characters are compelling and add to the story bringing Applecross to life, but Lora’s tough as nails attitude that clearly clashes with real life adds depth and intrigue to the story.  And the emotional turmoil of Lora’s love life and having to deal with hiding what she truly is makes the story believable and enjoyable.

The author has created a complex world with multiple conflicts without confusing the readers or the timing of any of the events involved. I actually found the second book more entertaining than the first and I can’t wait for next adventure in this complex world.
