The first book in the Nightwing series is an exciting and sexy read with solid, daring characters that draw readers in and hold them hostage. Jessen and Lucius not only have the age old problem of crossing cultural lines and prejudices to keep the apart but Jessen is duty-bound to honor a pre-arranged marriage to a man she despises. The emotion that takes place during Jessen and Lucius story is turbulent, but the magnetic attraction between them is electrical and has sparks flying from first meeting.

Thrilling and anticipation building excitement keep readers glued to the pages as Jessen defies her father and decides to reach for her what her heart desires even while Lucius tries to deny what his dragon already knows as truth while Jessen’s family and jerk fiancé do their best to keep them apart. The story is fast paced and flows smoothly throughout introducing a very intriguing world full of hybrid dragons that make for a different kind of dragon read and while I feel that the story could have benefited from being a bit longer, I was quite taken with Lucius and Jessen’s story and I am looking forward to visiting this exciting world again.
