My Review:

This is an intriguing and modern story of vampires with surprises that keep the reader guessing.

Alexandra was forced into the secret world of vampires thirty years ago and now unable to stomach the thought of drinking blood, she exists on a chemical blood wine.  Reese is an ancient vampire and part of an elite military operation seeking out and eliminating rogue vampires. Now along with his team, he’s undercover as a firefighter investigating a series of fires used to cover up vampire murders.  As Reese and Alexandra finds themselves embroiled in an affair, Reese isn’t sure whether to follow his heart or the clues as the number of fires escalates and the evidence against Alexandra mounts.

This steady paced plot is an intriguing read with lots of suspense and twists to keep the reader engaged.  This entertaining read is brought to life with well timed events, vivid images and strong compelling characters. 

The romance between Alexandra and Reese radiates heat and burn as hot as the fires Reese is investigating.  The emotions of the characters are conveyed with an intensity that makes it easy for the reader to relate to each one. 

The author has created a refreshing vampire novel with unique elements that make for a great change in the usual vampire story with modern elements that adds depth to the world and captures the reader’s imagination. The author also gives a great ending with a future look at the hero and heroine.

The only drawback to this book that I found was that it is a little short and could have been an awesome story if some parts had been expanded some.  This is a standalone novel, but this world has lots of potential for future books if the author should decide to write more about these bewitching vampires. (Hint a novel about Josh would be great!
