MY REVIEW
Okay. I get it. I know I am late to the party, and now I see why everyone is raving about A Game of Thrones. I was confused in the beginning, being fed so much information, but it didn’t take me long to become invested in the characters, fearing for their lives, and wondering who will live and who will die before the first books ends. The more I read, the better it gets. Betrayal is everywhere and I don’t know who to trust either. Revenge runs deep and the punishments are brutal, savage, and bloody. I have chosen those who I think will be special and I look forward to finding out if I am right.
And that ending…Oh man, oh man, oh man…I got A Game of Thrones from my library, and I can hardly wait to get the second book!
Some of my favorite quotes:
“The common people pray for rain, healthy children, and a summer that never ends,” Ser Jorah told her. “It”s no matter to them if the high lord play their Game of Thrones, so long as they are left in peace.”
He gave a shrug, “They never are.”
“When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or die.”
“…why is it always the innocents who suffer the most, when you high lords play your Game of Thrones?”
“In life, the monsters win…”
I checked the book out from my favorite online library and will be getting the rest through them as well. Can hardly wait to start book II.
