My Review: 

The second novella in the Dragon Shifters of Derkesthai Academy series is an intriguing paranormal romance with some refreshing unique perspectives.

Special Forces dragon shifter Noah Easton escapes the torture of a hoard thief bent on stealing dragon hoard stones and their elemental powers, but the situation becomes personal when the thief targets his family.  Modern day oracle, April reads tea leaves and just about anything else that can predict coming events, but her past abandonment issues makes her resistant to reading her own signs.  When evil comes to Mystic Springs, she must face her fears to save everything she’s ever loved from the magical criminal who threatens to steal it.

This steady paced plot has it all, action, suspense, drama, betrayal and romance.  The author describes the story with vivid imagery that captures the imagination and the characters are bewitching and easily related to.  The tension builds throughout as the story progresses to the explosive final battle with the enemy.

The attraction between April and Noah burns hot, but the relationship stands on a rocky foundation because of April’s past. The author describes April’s emotional journey with lots of detail that makes it easy for the reader to empathize with her.  But from my point of view, Noah captured my heart because he’s the ultimate alpha dragon male with strong protective instincts, now that’s sexy, right?

The author has included some different concepts to her dragons that I have not encountered before which added some depth to the story also the town with its magic springs that may or may not be a magical entity on its own, hmmm, very intriguing.  I was a little disappointed at first because it seemed more talk than action, but it quickly picked up and got real interesting and I found it to be an enjoyable read.
