Blurb:
(off Goodreads)
Fire Captain Jeb Stone and incredibly successful press secretary Nita Moreno have both been burned by love before. That's why neither of them is looking for more than a few steamy nights of passion.
When circumstances find them stranded on an island together, babysitting a cross-dressing senator and the very pregnant wife of San Gabriel's most famous captain, they allow the sparks they feel to take center stage. But as their feelings grow, can they each allow the other past the barriers both have built to protect their hearts?
My Review
Book number 4.5 in the Bachelor Fireman is an intriguing and entertaining fast read. The chemistry between Jeb and Nita is red hot and the passion sizzles with every page. The author has created a great setting for these heroes and gives the reader an enjoyable and entertaining read with romance, action and excitement. Note: This short fast read can be without reading the other stories in this series.

About Me
It took me a while to find my true love, both personally and professionally. I grew up in a crazy, chaotic family of six. My father was a professor, my mother a poet, and neither could understand my love for romance novels. I started reading early, inhaling Nora Roberts, Victoria Holt, Georgette Heyer, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, along with Shakespeare and Anais Nin thrown in for variety. I graduated from Harvard University with a degree in History and Literature. I wanted to major in Creative Writing, but those students were supercool and I confess I was a geek. Even so, I knew I had to write. After college I worked for Macmillan Publishing in New York, where I wrote copy for yearly encyclopedia updates. Yes, it was writing, but I wanted to try something different. The something different turned out to be living on a fishing island in Maine. To fill the long winter nights, I began writing screenplays with my college roommate. And so my quirky career began.
I moved to the city and began working as a news promo writer. You know those teasers... "Shootout at a local dry-cleaners, News at 11"... yep, that was me. Promo producing was fun, and I quickly moved on to bigger markets. For quite a few years I lived in Los Angeles, moving up the promo career ladder and writing screenplays and short stories on the side.
In December 2006, I hit a rough spot in my life. As always, during tough times, I turned to a familiar source of comfort and escape: romance novels. This time, something clicked. If reading romance brought me such joy, why not try writing a romance novel? My first attempt is still lurking on my hard drive somewhere, trying not to embarrass me. But still, I knew I'd found my true writing love. Shortly after, I left my big city, high-stress life and moved to Alaska, where I fell in love with my now-husband. Is it coincidence that as soon as I started writing romance I found it in real life too? Sometimes I wonder.
In Alaska I joined the local chapter of RWA and began learning the ins and outs of the romance business. In time I signed with the fabulous Alexandra Machinist, now with the legendary agency Janklow & Nesbit. My first sale came in November 2010, to the brilliant Tessa Woodward at my dream publisher, Avon Books. It's an unbelievable thrill to know my books will be with the publisher of my idols, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Eloisa James, Julia Quinn and so many others.
I now live in a tiny town in Alaska with my husband and 7 year old stepdaughter. For sanity's sake, we decamp to Hawaii for a couple months during the winter.
