My Thoughts on The Scent of Roses by Charlene Raddon:
I loved it! I would have read it in a day, if I could have and had the time. I started it right before we started packing up to go on vacation. I read a good amount in one sitting, and then I had to wait a couple of agonizing days before I could finish the whole thing. I would read a little after time I had a few seconds to myself because I really wanted to know what happened! The storyline drew me in from the beginning! I wanted to know Rosalyn Delaney's secrets, who killed her husband, Josiah, and exactly what kind of person Whip Kincade was. I was intrigued by all the developing storylines, who was who, and more about all the colorful, fully developed characters. The Scent of Roses kept me on the edge of my seat and thinking about the story long after putting the book down. The story held loads of suspense and mystery and so many twists and turns to leave your head spinning. I didn't see some of the ending coming. Will there be a happy ending? Will love conquer all? Will justice be done? Charlene Raddon is an amazing story writer and draws you into the world that her characters live and takes your breath away. I am fascinated with her talent of story telling and want to read more by her. The Scent of Roses is a sequel to To Have and To Hold; I haven't read To Have and To Hold, but plan to buy it really soon. The Scent of Roses was a good stand alone, if you haven't read To Have and To Hold like me. I love the romance and the mystery all wrapped up in one amazing book. I highly recommend to anyone who likes romantic mysteries and/or historical romances.
