My Review: 

The sixth novel in the Children of the Night series is a mesmerizing vampire romance with an intriguing twist.

Vampires are an obsession for Sheree west and night after night she immerses herself in L.A.’s goth club scene searching for a legend who lives in the shadows not just her dreams. Derek Blackmore is no ordinary vampire and everything Sheree ever wished for – and more, but something wild has been unleashed in Derek. Something dangerous, something no vampire can control or stop… even for the woman he loves.

This steady to fast paced plot sends shivers up the spine with delicious romance, suspense and a sexy vampire.  The author brings the life to each and every scene with vivid imagery and details that draw the readers and make them feel like they are part of the story.  The characters are bewitching with strong presence that grab the reader’s attention and keeps it to the very end.

The attraction between Sheree and Derek leaps off the pages, the sex scenes sizzle with passion, and the romance sends sparks flying with emotional turmoil and conflict.  The author makes it easy for the reader to get emotionally involved in the characters with her well written scenes and vibrant descriptions of their lives. The Queen of Vampires describes Sheree as “Honest of Heart” a description that fits her well as she seems to be strong but innocent when it comes to Derek and vampires while being just a little too “wishy washy” when it comes to herself and what she wants.

The emotional drama and personal conflict that Derek must endure adds spice and depth to the story and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat with anticipation to see how the issue is resolved.  And to make things even more interesting, there are characters from the previous books, some family, friends, enemies and some that no one is sure whether can be trusted or not. Add it all together and this makes for a fascinating and exciting vampire romance.

I love all the Amanda Ashley’s vampire books both the ones in this series and the others and I must say that this one was a little surprising, in a good way of course.  I can’t wait to read the next vampire romance she creates for us lucky readers.
