The third book in The Awakening series is an intriguing shifter world with unique and surprising elements.

Britton Townsend was sentenced to 20 years as a human by the council and now works as a human detective in the police department.  The half shifter Val Calhoun replaced as the lead SPAC detective and the loathe each other, but when Val fails the case she is assigned by the Council, they send the two arch enemies deep into the mountains- together- alone.

The author brings this intriguing story to life with vivid imagery that makes the reader feel as if they are part of the story.  The fast paced smooth flowing plot grabs the reader’s attention and keeps it to the very end.  All of the characters in this unique world are bewitching with strong personalities that the reader finds easy to relate to.

The rocky romance between is an intense roller coaster of emotion, drama and red hot chemistry. Their emotional turmoil is conveyed with such intensity that the reader can clearly understand where each character is coming from. 

The well developed plot has lots of interesting concepts that make for a refreshing look at shifters, lots of suspense with some surprising twists and enchanting characters that leave the reader wanting more.  Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down until I had read the very last word.  The first two books in the series were very entertaining, but I think this one is my favorite so far.  I enjoyed reading Britton and Val’s story it brought laughter, edge of my seat tension and even tears to my eyes. I can’t wait to read the next one as this series has definitely became a must read.
