MY REVIEW FOR THE LAST FILE BY SIERA LONDON
This could be Mac’s last case, the Last File, she would work on, if she didn’t complete the mandated drug and alcohol counseling. She fought it tooth and nail. If she wanted to quit, she would do it on her own. She didn’t need counseling.
Mac had a lot of baggage and it weighed heavily on her and Belvedere Vodka had become her best friend. I love damaged characters, as long as I get to watch them grown and develop into a deeper, more well rounded person. I love to watch them face their demons and come out the better for it.
Adrian, her partner, accepts her and her faults, trying to help in his own small ways. He is pretty subtle, and even though she knows he is manipulating her, she doesn’t mind. Will they hook up?
I feel like I am all over the place and the flow and pace of the story keeps getting interrupted. The whole time I was reading, I thought this would be a three rating, even though it did pick up and make me more interested when I got to the last third to quarter of the book. I loved it and the surprise she thew in…
The Last File is as much about Mac and her character development as it is about her desire to bust the Birthday Butcher, a serial killer. Once I figured that out, I enjoyed the story more.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of The Last File by Siera London.
