"My review for this book was due on July 9th, and I’ve gotta say, I’ve had the book done & review scheduled since MAY 29. After reading Catching Cassidy and reviewing it, I couldn’t wait to read Delilah’s story & learn more about her! I kind of wondered how well I would like the book because it is a female/female love story, and I’ve never read one before. I’ve gotta say though, this book was amazing! If anyone can pull off a f/f love story, it’s most definitely Melissa Foster! This story isn’t overly sexual, not overly descriptive, etc. If you’re worried about reading THAT, you don’t have to worry about it!

Delilah had a hard time “coming out” and felt guilty because her parents died right after she told them she was a lesbian, and all she could remember was the look that they gave her after she told them. For as long as she could remember, they had drilled it into her head that same-sex relationships were wrong. She felt that everyone else would look down on her when she officially came out. Her brother fully supported the fact that she is gay, which I think is completely awesome. I mean, my kids are 8, 6 & 2, but I fully think that if any of them came out and told me that they liked the same sex, I would be fine with it. It’s been completely normal in the time that I’ve grown up.

It honestly surprises me that still, in this day and age, so many people have issues with people in same-sex relationships. I have never had any issues with anyone in a same-sex relationship! Love is Love and you can’t help who you fall in love with, or at least, that is my thought on the matter.

This book picks up not too long after Catching Cassidy left off, so you don’t have to go back & try to remember certain things that are mentioned, as it’s pretty fresh in your mind!

Delilah had a long talk with her aunt one day while packing up her parents house, and she realized that it’s not just that her dad thought being gay was wrong, it was just that was how it was perceived in his generation.

I wanted to hug Delilah. I really did. After she first came together with Ashley, she didn’t want to come out to EVERYONE just yet. She was still worried about that. How do you carry on with this secret going through you? Being out in public with Ashley, she just knew everyone was giving them disapproving looks. (She was wrong)

Melissa Foster has written this book beautifully, and as usual, I’m super stoked for the next installment in this series."

This was a different read for me, so far out of what I normally read. Not in genre but in the story and plot itself. This book is more than your run-of-the-mil YA supernatural/paranormal romance. It felt, to me, like a true ghost story. It wasn't about saving the world; it wasn't about anything other than a broken girl trying to save what little of her family she had left, while trying to come to teams with her own demons. I don't believe I have ever been so emotionally invested in a story before. My heart is still pounding.

This book has made me fall in love with YA again, or can you call it YA, this has more of a NA feeling to it. In all, I'm in deep feels with this wonder.This story is original, and it strayed away from the normal cliché that haunt YA/NA books. For one there was no, NO, insta-love; in fact love wasn't even mentioned.
