Book Covers, I  shamelessly love them!  How do you all feel about them? Do you like the hot guy or rogue on the cover? Perhaps a couple caught in an intense moment? Or do you prefer to have the steam kept between the pages with a simple pretty cover?

I'm thankful for my kindle where unless someone is peaking in it no one sees the covers. I personally like them tastefully done. Not too much showing. I have seen some covers where the stories sounded great but the covers looked too sleazy.

I don't like half naked people on the cover...but it sales, so I wouldn't say I would never have it for my own cover.  I think it cheapens the read personally.  When I see too much skin, I start to think Erotica and not romance.

Honestly it depends.. Sometimes there is a supposedly "steamy" cover and I am like - What is that? Eww..  I won't say I don't like them because I do but it just depends on if it's following my definition of hot.. lol.

Doing reviews for a while now, I have noticed that the cover the book influences me much more than I ever thought. I've actually turned down requests when I've looked at a cover and thought it looked cheaply done.

I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover....but I have to admit it...I do. The cover is what draws me in to even think about reading it. I love having the hot guy on the front - who doesn't like eye candy. :) I do have to agree with Mandie, I am glad to have my kindle and everyone doesn't know what I am reading.

I'm actually on the fence.  I do like to see a hot guy on the cover.  I have to induldge in life's little pleasures when at all possible lol! But feeling like a little of a closet romance junkie I sometimes prefer to not have anyone else know....my husband mainly lol! I do like a very pretty cover as well.

hahaha Kelly, I admit I have turned down books for the SAME reason.

I love the classic steamy romance covers with the hot guy taking the woman in a swoonworthy embrace, but I also like any cover that has a striking image... it can be the heroine, the hero, something magical.  As long as it catches me at a glance.  I admit, I pick a lot of books by their covers.

Actually both way...I love a nice steamy cover but then the contents better be just as good.

I agree Susan,  The contents hopefully live up to the cover. It is interesting though how the cover can influence the reader in choosing a book.
