Flaming Crimes is Book V of Chrys Fey’s Disaster series and I have been loving every minute of it. I know that may sound kind of bad, seeing all the books are about disasters, but, what can I say? I love danger mixed in with my romance and mystery.
I love the awesome cover by Kim Mendoza.
MY REVIEW
Beth is working hard to overcome the physical and psychological damage done from the Hawaiian honeymoon and the tsunami they faced. So far, we’ve had a hurricane, an earthquake, and a tsunami, so, seeing we are in California, it’s only right we have a fire. Sorry if it sounds like I will enjoy it, but…
Fires must be one of the most frightening things to face. It’s alive, “it breathes, eats, and moves”.
First thing on the agenda, though, is they are trying to make a baby.
I love Grandma, and this is what she had to say about that: “Maybe it’s the sperm.”
Donovan: “My sperm is fine.”
Grandma: “Well, maybe you’re not doing it right.”
Donovan: I’m doing it right!”
Grandma: “How do you know?”
Donovan: “Believe me…I know!”
Grandma: “Hmm. Well, if you need any pointers…”
Beth teaches self defense classes and her helper is a little too hands on. Could there be cause for alarm? I didn’t like that Beth didn’t get rid of him right off the bat. Beth’s clients are abused women, so I’m sure she doesn’t want to expose them to more of that.
Chrys deals with sensitive issues of women’s abuse, sexual assault, and rape in a great way, and if you take any self defense classes from Beth…well…you will be able to hold your own.
I loved it when they went to the batting cages…when Beth did the splits…laughing out loud funny.
The car chase through the fire was wildly exciting, exhilarating and dangerous.
Chrys writes about their love life in sweet, innocent words, but don’t take them for pushovers. The dialogue is full of sweet sexual innuendo that I can’t help but smile at. Romance, we have a lot of romance, but when the danger comes, it hits them both. But…who? Why?
Flaming Crimes from Chrys Fey has everything needed for a heart stopping, pulse pounding roller coaster ride through disaster and danger.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Flaming Crimes by Chrys Fey.
