The second book in the Perfect Recipe series is an intriguing, entertaining and a delicious must read.
Bakery owner Chloe Nelson and professional hockey player Griffen Lange get along like chocolate and pickles but they have been thrown together by a struggling business and an act of vandalism. A fake relationship seems like a perfect plan to keep the media interested and save their respective careers.
The author brings this very enjoyable read to life with vivid details and a steady paced smooth flowing plot that engages the readers’ imagination and keeps them entertained from beginning to end. The conflicts and the emotions of the characters are conveyed with intensity, some snarky dialogue and humor that the readers can easily relate too.
The rocky romance between the Chloe and Griffen is full of heated arguments, playful snipes at each other, and “sinfully delicious” passion that adds lots of spice to this captivating romance. The supporting characters compliment the main couple and are strong and compelling giving the story depth and ensuring that the readers want to know more about this enticing group of people.
I found this book to highly entertaining and once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. The author takes two characters that are worlds apart in their life and their interests and turns them into a great couple that the reader wants to see get their happily ever after and to top it off, she made me very hungry, I could almost smell all those delicious smelling pastries. I have not had the pleasure of reading the first one in this series but I will definitely be remedying that soon and l can’t wait to read the future books in the series.
