Blurb:
Wrath volunteers to live and work outside Homeland, where he'll once again be confined in a small space with other males. He was subjected to horrific abuse and conditioning and forced to view endless sex tapes of human females while chained to Mercile's perverted machines. Wrath knows he's too dangerous and emotionally damaged to ever be with a female.
Lauren has just been detained by three big, buff, well-armed men-New Species. One of them really catches her eye. He's tall, sexy and . . . her new roommate, apparently. Having never met a man this spectacular, she decides to taste every inch of his amazing body. Wrath is definitely open to that plan. The sex is incredible and he gives her everything she needs-but he'll only go so far. Something is holding him back.
Lauren has to make him unleash his desire and Wrath has to get past his fear if the couple wants any chance at a future together.
Publisher's Note: While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.
My Review:
Wrath is working for the task force when he questions a human female that challenges everything he believes about himself in this exciting paranormal romance.
There is never a dull moment in this fast paced and smooth flowing New Species story. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the passion, action and suspense as Wrath finds himself facing his worst nightmare - a human female. Wrath captures the heart as he tries to protect that which was used against him when he was still in a prisoner in a lab, but Lauren is not just any female she brings the best out in Wrath and shows him that not all humans are the same and that he can trust in himself. The passion that flows between them scorches the pages with some red hot sex scenes but it is their growing relationship that enthralls the readers.
Lots of excitement keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as the task force begins there campaign to find and bring down their enemies. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and make it easy for the reader to get lost in the non-stop thrills that start off with the task force mistakenly taken Lauren into custody and progresses through several conflicts with their enemies and a few surprising twist along the way.
I was completely caught up in this story and I fell in love with another one of these amazing characters, Wrath is one of the newest rescued and he embodies hope and loyalty and all things that readers love to read about it, like overcoming adversity and emotional trauma and reaching for the stars as they find their happily ever after and Lauren represents doing what’s needed to protect herself and her new boyfriend and being accepting that not all things are black and white making this an emotionally gripping yet thrilling true love mating.

About Laurann Dohner:
I had a rather short area here telling a little about myself but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm happily married, I met my dream guy in 1989, and we have 4 children. I live in Nevada and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books - always have been.
No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days. By the time I turned nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I got hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. I started to write my first book after I read a real bomb of one that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best. I thought...I could do better!
I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to attempt to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy. It's a dream come true.
