After being widowed at a young age, Jade Hadley is tired of her celibate existence and is determined to add a little romance and sex into her life again. When her deceased husband’s sexy best friend admits a longtime attraction, her entire world is thrown off kilter.Security expert David McIntyre is in love with Jade and has been from the moment they met. Unfortunately for him, that was the week she married his best friend. For years he’s stayed silent, giving her time to mourn. When he discovers she’s dating again, all bets are off. Then someone targets her to die and he realizes he has more trouble than he bargained for. Seducing her isn’t the problem. Convincing her what they have together isn’t purely physical, however, is. It might even prove to be a bigger challenge than trying to keep her alive.
My Review:
This riveting contemporary romance gets the adrenaline pumping when widow, Jade Hadley is finally ready for a second chance at happiness and she tells her sister she needs some “excitement and red hot sex” in her life. Security expert David McIntyre has been in love with Jade since he met her so when he discovers she’s ready to date again he sets out to seduce her into a HEA with him, but before they can get things worked out, excitement comes calling as well and Jade’s life is threatened.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with action, suspense, drama and red hot passion. The author brings the story to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated intrigue and drama draws the reader deeper into the story. Spine tingling anticipation builds throughout the story during the budding romance and from the increasing danger to Jade. And the strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.
The attraction between Jade and David is strong enough to burn up the pages and the sex scenes are scorching hot, but the relationship has some obstacles to overcome. The reader can certainly empathize with Jade as she is unsure what to think about dating David since he’s her best friend and her rock which cause some drama during some intense moments. David stays strong, but when her life is threatened all bets are off.
I was completely caught up in this story from the beginning and couldn’t put it down until I read the very last word. This author always comes through for reader’s that are looking for thrills and excitement as well as passionate encounters no matter what name she is writing under, Savannah Stuart or Katie Reus and this one is no different.

About Savannah Stuart;
(Off author’s site)
Savannah Stuart is the pseudonym of New York Times and USA Todaybestselling author Katie Reus. Under this name she writes slightly hotter romance than her mainstream books. Her stories still have a touch of intrigue, suspense, or the paranormal and the one thing she always includes is a happy ending. She lives in the South with her very own real life hero. In addition to writing (and reading of course!) she loves traveling with her husband.
