My Review:

A one night stand with no regrets and no promises, at least that what Mimi wants, Mack’s wants all of her and he’s ready to convince one night – and one fire- at a time in this smoking contemporary romance. 

This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers sizzling on the edge of anticipation with suspense, drama and romance.  The author describes the story with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated drama and suspense draws them deeper into the story. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

The chemistry between Mimi and Mack smolders with lots of heat and the sex scenes blaze out of control but the relationship is a slow burn that takes a lot of work on Mack’s part.  The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as Mack tries to court Mimi and convince her that he wants all of her the sweet and the sour, the tough and the loving.  Mack doesn’t really have a way with words but the strong hero personality makes it easy to overlook and Mimi is a complex personality that grips the reader’s heart.

Mimi’s past plays a huge part in her emotional makeup but it also adds some danger and excitement to their life when her one good dead comes back to haunt her, which Mack uses to his advantage in his courtship.  The dangers of the smoke jumper’s job are brought to light adding excitement and depth to the story as well adding some reality and sadness. 

This is the first of the Smoke Jumpers that I have read and I have to say that I found the story to be enjoyable and entertaining bringing the sexy hero’s to life. I will definitely be reading the previous books in the series as well as looking forward to reading the next one.
