My Review:

The fourth book in this charming series is a mesmerizing and action packed read.  Vampire Phil returns to Edinburgh and rescues a beautiful amnesiac damsel in distress but what starts off as curiosity soon gets out of hand as everything soon gets out of hand as Serafina and her investigators become involved and discover that an old enemy is up to some new tricks.

This steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, action, drama and romance.  The author brings the story to life with well written words and details which inspire vivid images that capture the imagination and the well orchestrated events are believable and exciting.  The strong compelling characters from the previous books in the series return to with a new case to be solved and introduce the readers to new captivating characters that are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention.

The attraction between Phil and Linnie radiates lots of red hot passion from every page and the sex scenes are hot and steamy, but the relationship is on rocky ground, not only does Linnie think vampires are abominations, she’s got trust issues when it comes to relationships and Phil never takes anything much seriously except his whisky.  The differences and the danger in the story add spice and depth to the story that keeps the reader’s caught up in their romance and wondering what the outcome will be.

The story has lots of twists and turns and some unexpected events that keep the readers guessing. And as Serafina’s is expanding and adding new characters to this fascinating investigation agency, the series promises to continue to be a thrilling must read series and I can’t wait to read the next one.
