My Review:

The second book in the Dangerous Affairs / Tilling Passions series is an intriguing and entertaining quick read.

Landscaper Deirdre Tilling has been jilted for the third time is as many years and now giving up on love. Deciding on a one night stands, she finds herself heating up the sheets with a dark haired stranger that she met at her new employer’s party. One problem – one night might not be enough.  DEA agenty, Ayden Scott is working undercover determined to bring down an elusive drug cartel smuggling drugs into central Maine and restore his reputation and get revenge for the death of his team member.  He’ll use any means necessary to achieve his objective including sleeping with the feisty landscaper, Deirdre, he just didn’t count on that night being one neither can forget.

This fast paced plot is an intriguing and entertaining quick read that gets the reader’s adrenalin pumping.  The author describes the scenes with vivid imagery and details that capture the reader’s imagination and the compelling characters are easily related to and leave the reader wanting to know more.

The attraction between Ayden and Deirdre starts off with red hot sex and continues to sizzle with steamy passion as the couple gets to know each other. The author brings the characters to life with vibrant details that ensure that the reader gets caught up in the story. Deirdre and Ayden both have emotional turmoil to deal with along with the current situation that adds depth to the story.

The tension builds as the case draws to a close and the author throws in quite a few surprises that the reader doesn’t see coming.  I really enjoyed how the author managed to turn the table on the bad guy and keep the reader in the dark, I mean I was beginning to think that Ayden wasn’t that good of a DEA agent until the very last chapter and then the big reveal had me sitting back and saying “why, that smart little bugger,” and I like how she ended their book in the happily ever after part as well.  Overall, I found the book to be a enjoyable quick read and this author’s book one to keep a look out for.
