Check out the blog Veereads for  insights into a new comic, Raising Dion, that might appeal to young readers and adults. Obviously, they will get into it for different reasons. Youths will love the star-child superhero. The character displays the enthusiasm for discovery and simple desire to make things work for the better one finds in most children. Also, he is unconsciously funny. For example, his mom shows him how to use one of his ever-changing powers. He tells her that he plans to use the heat ray to make popcorn. She asks what he will do when the ability is fully developed. "Make a field of popcorn," Dion says.

I can only give a cautious thumbs up here. The 22-page first issue, shows potential, as any first work in a series. The test will be whether I am equally intrigued by the story in a year. Read the full comments and download a copy of the beautiful first issue at the above link.
