My Review

The second book in the Crescent City Fae series is an intriguing and action packed magical read that keeps the reader entertained from beginning to end.

Magical baker extraordinaire and Void agent, Willow Rhoswen is dodging assassins and having to make deals and accept protection from the vampires when her boyfriend Talisen goes missing.  Talisen has invented a new drug that creates super humans and everyone wants it, including the vampires.

This fast paced smooth flowing plot engages the reader with lots of intrigue, action, romance, magic and strong compelling characters.  The author brings the story and the action to life with vivid images and intense details that has the reader feeling as if they are part of the story.  

The chemistry romance between Tailsen and Willow and between Willow and David radiate heat from every page as they battle with bad guys and struggle with their emotions and relationships.  The author conveys the emotions with an intensity that makes it easy for the reader to easily relate to all the characters.

The author has created a bewitching paranormal world of charismatic characters, suspense and action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.  The suspense builds throughout the book with lots of twists and surprises that keep the reader guessing. 

I have not read the first book in this series yet, but I will definitely be remedying that soon and looking for the next one.  I loved the diversity of the characters and the refreshingly unique elements mixed in with the interesting conflicts that the author has created. I couldn’t put the story down once I started it, but there were a couple of incidents in the battles that seemed a little unbelievable, but they were easily overlooked.
