Poets Can't Sing
"I Could Write a Book" is a show tune from the 1940 Rodgers and Hart musical Pal Joey (1940), where it was introduced by Gene Kelly and Leila Ernst.
Stella and Earl start out as friends in 'Poets Can't Sing'. It is not a relationship easily started - hard to deny as a whirlwind of circumstances bring them together. By the end of 'Silencing the Blues Man' - the third book in the three book series - Earl passes on and we discover that Earl can never be silenced. The following song is not in the book; in hindsight perhaps it should have.
