Diary Question 1

Society seems to sell the concept that someday you will meet The One and then live Happily Ever After. What conflicts did Tyler face as she realized real life doesn't play out like a fairy tale, and why was holding on to that concept so important to her?

It's hard to let go of the whole concept but it's not reality.

The character showed resilience, which is important. As I have seen it, too many women in the real world give up on finding true love, because they don't have the faith to maintain the hope that the world cannot be taken over by frogs. Tyler mentions princes, but she really just wants to find a guy who appreciates her and is not a freak or a loser. The protagonist held on because she was not a quitter. It seemed to come from her involvement in a do-or-die profession.
