Society seems to sell the concept that someday you will meet The One and then live Happily Ever After. What conflicts did Tyler face as she realized real life doesn't play out like a fairy tale, and why was holding on to that concept so important to her?

She deals in romance and love kinda hard to think what you deal with all the time is not real

I agree. I think she didn't want to let go of that idea. It appealed to her more than reality, and I think she saw other people having what she thought was a fairy tale and wanted what they had.

It's hard to let go of the whole concept but it's not reality.

It definitely is not reality! Real relationships are tough.

The character showed resilience, which is important. As I have seen it, too many women in the real world give up on finding true love, because they don't have the faith to maintain the hope that the world cannot be taken over by frogs. Tyler mentions princes, but she really just wants to find a guy who appreciates her and is not a freak or a loser. The protagonist held on because she was not a quitter. It seemed to come from her involvement in a do-or-die profession.

Yes, I think Tyler is resilient, more than she realizes! And I definitely agree with you that it's not a "prince" she really wants but someone who appreciates her. I wonder if the women lose their faith because of the experiences they have or if it's the unrealistic expectations that have been set. Or a combination of both? Then when they settle out of fear, they often end up resentful that the person is not what they had hoped for.
