Tell us about your book(s)

ENDLESS is the final book in The King Series, and it wraps up the story of Tasmyn and Michael, who are recovering from the traumatic events of RESTLESS. Their renewed commitment strengthens Tas for the challenges of her freshman year in college, including an intriguing new part time job and a brush with old acquaintances

Where did the idea of your (latest) book come from? I knew from almost the beginning of the series how the book would end, but I didn't have details about the driving plot line until a good way into writing it. I am not a planner; I jot down what I know in the beginning, things that I need for continuity, and then I just write. The characters let me know what I need to know. . .eventually! In the case of ENDLESS, I was excited that what was revealed not only made a great story, but it also ended up opening doors for upcoming books.

Who and what inspires you to write your books? My family, because they are tremendously supportive, and my readers, because they love the characters, too!

Each author has their own fascinating journey. How did you begin writing? I always was a story teller, and by the time I was in middle school, I had my first short story (paranormal!) published in a children's magazine. Later, when I was married and a young mom, I wrote articles about parenting and homeschooling. I didn't get back to fiction until about five years ago. I wrote FEARLESS in about four months, and I never looked back!

What has been the most pleasant surprise about being a writer? How about the most unexpected downside? I love the community and support of other authors, bloggers and fans. It's so much fun. The only downside is that I can't just write all the time. . .there is a lot more to the business of writing than most people realize.

Do you have any particular writing routines or rituals? I'm a whenever, whatever, however writer. When I'm knee-deep in a story, I write at night, either in my living room or in bed, all day long. . .I take the laptop to appointments, waiting for kids. . .so no real routines. If I can have music, that's great, but I also can write in front of the television or in a room full of talking people!

Do you write in order? I didn't write FEARLESS in order, but in subsequent books, I started at the beginning and wrote until I got to the middle. At that point I jumped ahead, wrote the ending. . .then went back and finished it. It works for me!

What is on your playlist when you write? Almost everything! I love old music, alt rock, country. . .and music definitely informs my stories. It can move me past a stuck point or inspire a new twist. For ENDLESS, the playlist included Lifehouse, FM Radio, Brandi Carlile, Christina Perri, Train, Jason Mraz and the Civil Wars.

Favorite writing snack? Peanut m&m's and/or ridged potato chips with onion dip. YUM!

Where do you like to write? Wherever I can. In bed, on the sofa, at the dining room table. . .in hotel rooms, in the car waiting for kids, at coffee houses. . .have computer, will travel!

Do you have any advice for authors wanting to publish? Write. When you're finished writing, edit, cut and clean. And then find an editor who you can trust and with whom you can communicate. Once you're sure you have the absolute best work, find fabulous professionals--formatter, cover design artist, promotion team--and make your book as good as it can be before you publish it.

Are you currently working on anything else? Yes! My next book is a contemporary romance called THE POSSE. I'm also working on The Serendipity Duet, which are Rafe's book and Nell's book. I'll also release the first book in my adult series.

Who is your favorite character and why? Of course I love Tas and Michael, but really, Nell is one of my favorites. She has such a rich back story and so much to share! Rafe is another favorite. . .he also has a lot of conflict from his past.

Favorite book of all time? ACK--least favorite question. I love Celia Garth, which is a historical romance. It's a book I've read time and again. I also love Diana Gabaldon's books--Outlander is amazing.

Breakfast says a lot about a person, what is your perfect breakfast? Usually, anything sweet. My all-time favorite breakfast would have to be beignets and chickory coffee sitting alongside the Mississippi in the sunshine.

Please tell us in one sentence why we should read your book.

It is the perfect happy ending to the journey that has taken Tasmyn from a frightened, lonely girl to a confident young women who has embraced both her powers and her choices.
