  1. Tell us about your latest book.

A girl is unhappy with her life. An evil sorcerer then kidnaps her to the Fiji Islands, and she can’t leave until she faces certain challenges.

  1. Where did the idea for the book come from?

Before I wrote this novel, I wrote a sloppy one called Alyssa’s African Adventures. I was disappointed by the reactions, so I removed it from the market as soon as I turned eighteen. But that was how I got inspired to write this novel. A lot of the elements in the novel were also inspired by the Harry Potter series.

  1. Who and what inspire you to write?

Books and occasionally small life experiences.

  1. Each author has his or her own inspiring journey. How did you begin writing?

I have been creative ever since I was around five or six. I used to write picture books and occasionally short stories. The first novel I’ve written happened in third grade.

  1. What has been the most pleasant surprise about writing? How about an unexpected down side?

A lot of people like my writing and think it’s really good for my age. A downside is that there were times my characters didn’t talk like real people in earlier drafts.

  1. Do you have any writing rituals?

I don’t know.

  1. Do you write your books in order?

Yes.

  1. What is on your writing playlist for this book?

I’ve never really thought about that. So I have no clue.

  1. Any favorite writing snacks?

Nope.

  1. What advice would you give writers who aspire to be published?

Don’t rush. Take your time with writing since it isn’t easy.

  1. Are you working on anything new right now?

I am working on my book’s sequel.

  1. Who is your favorite character in your current book?

My main character’s godfather. He is minor in this book, but will be more major in the rest of the series (I won’t say how, though)

  1. What is your favorite book of all time?

There are so many books I liked. It’s one of those categories where I don’t have just one favorite.

  1. Tell us in one sentence why we should read your book.

The main character must seek confidence and overcome her fear of challenges.
